The Rickman band program was reformed by Mr. Shannon R. Pirtle in the fall of 2003.  Since that time, the program has grown to over 50 members.  The band performs several times throughout the school year including a Christmas concert and a spring concert.  The band has also played for special events such as commencement ceremonies and The Very Special Arts Program that is held at Standing Stone State Park in the spring.  The band performed a special concert at Standing Stone State Park in the spring of 2004 for Overton County's own Mike MuCully. (Mr. MuCully is famous for working for NASA and piloting the Space Shuttle.)  The bands moto is Teamwork, Dedication, Excellence.  The band works very hard to uphold this moto and to be a good reflection of our school and our community.
