Welcome Bulldogs!

Welcome to my page! Rickman Elementary has two counselors that work with our students, myself and Mrs. Donna Ray. I work with the 5th-8th grade students while Mrs. Ray works with PreK-4th grade students. Not only do we provide individual and group counseling for students, we also have 45 minute social/emotional lessons (SEL) each day with our classes. For our classes, we follow the American School Counseling Association's (ASCA) guidelines as well as Tennessee School Counseling and Career Guidance Standards. In my classes, you will find we talk about a variety of topics that typically fall under one or more of the following areas of development: academic, emotional/social, and career. This is my third year at Rickman and I am so excited to see all of our returning students and meet some new ones!
*About Me*

I am originally from Dickson, TN but now live in Cookeville, TN with my husband and our two pugs. This is my third year at Rickman Elementary, but before coming here I worked at a school in Crossville, TN. While I loved my time in Crossville, I am so thankful to have found a place that's not only closer to home but has an amazing group of students and faculty!

I am a two-time graduate from Tennessee Tech University. I received my bachelor's degree in Sociology and my master's degree in School Counseling. The 2021-2022 school year is my second year as a school counselor but before this, I worked as an assistant preschool teacher at the Child Development Lab on Tech's campus for around 5 years.

- I love music! I play drums and am currently learning how to play guitar.
- I love all sorts of board games! My favorite is Throw Throw Burrito.

I am so excited to see all of you!
