Mrs. Todd’s class spent the day learning about Eli Whitney’s invention of the cotton gin and how it revolutionized the process of separating seeds from cotton. Students experienced firsthand how challenging this task was to do by hand — and how it impacted overall yield. They also explored how cotton is grown today, including its role as a GMO crop. In addition, her ISM class had the wonderful opportunity to groom these beautiful puppies as part of their ongoing learning experiences. The students loved helping prepare them for their future forever homes!

5th grade Science students competed in our annual STEM Pumpkin Catapult Competition. Each class competed to see whose catapult could launch the candy pumpkin the farthest. Our students were very creative and used past force and motion knowledge to build some amazing catapults! The overall winner reached 22 feet!
