Yesterday, we celebrated the teaching career of Mrs. Kathy Ray! Mrs. Ray has been teaching for 33 years, and has impacted many lives during her time in the classroom. Throughout her career, Mrs. Ray has installed a love for learning to all of her students. Her students will remember her kind heart, passion for reading, and love for Scooby Doo (her favorite)! Mrs. Ray is always the first teacher at school, and shows so much care to all. We will greatly miss Mrs. Ray, but we are all so excited for her next adventure. Happy Retirement, Mrs. Ray!! We love you! 💜💛💜

5th grade students wrapped up their Journey of the Immigrants- Ellis and Angel Island Unit with a role play activity. Mrs. Brueckner’s classroom was transformed into the Ellis Island Immigration Station which once served as America's primary immigration station. This New York station processed over 12 million immigrants arriving by ship during 1892 to 1924. Several students researched their heritage and found that they had descendants that had travelled to Ellis Island seeking new lives.
